  My case involved an incident where my wife's alcoholic ex-husband came over to pick up his kids. Long story short, I ended up being charged with a PC 242 (Battery). I began researching on the internet and found Katherine here on Avvo. The one thing that jumped out upon meeting Katherine and speaking with her, is her kindness. She truly wanted to help me and my family get the best possible outcome from my case. After meeting her, you come to find out that she's all business and does everything herself. She has no assistant taking her calls or doing paperwork for her. It's all her. The number she lists publicly is the phone she will personally pick up. She will go the distance for you. She informed me every step of the way and answered every question I had about the Penal Code 242 and how the court system worked and what the procedures were. I had a lot of questions since it was my first charge ever. My record was clean and I wanted to keep it that way since I work in the medical field where they go into your background for your license. Since my case was a misdemeanor, I did not have to step into a courtroom once; and my lawyer, who was Katherine, would be the one representing me. Katherine handled every step of this experience and kept me informed of all the happenings going on. She called me right after attending my court appointments which equaled up to a total of three times. I've only met her once through all this. All communication between me and her was through the phone and e-mail. She always made sure that I was informed and up to date. She even worked out a payment plan. The one thing she has that not a lot of lawyers out there have, is trial experience. From reading around and speaking to her, you can tell that she knows what she's doing and what she needs to do if she ever needed to take a case to trial. I cannot express just how helpful she is. In the end she got my case dismissed without ever having to step into a court room and/or go to trial. She is highly recommended!!!!
